We'll see about trading the dratini for a mudkip later. I have to go to a party soon, and I don't have time to hatch one right now.

I really don't feel like hatching the egg is worth a mudkip, though [it takes AGES] - and I'm paranoid about trading out unhatched eggs simply because I'm greedy and would be really upset if someone else hatched a shiny from it. Maybe you could add something else?
